We are Hiring a Clinical Director

The Clinical Director is responsible for providing clinical consultation, individual and group (clinical and administrative) supervision, and program oversight. The Clinical Director serves as the clinical and program supervisor/director for Adoption, Counseling, Targeted Case Management, and Journey programs. The Clinical Director is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of clinical program policies and procedures across Maine Children’s Home, assuring that the organization is meeting licensing, accreditation expectations and following trauma-informed care best practices. The Clinical Director is expected to support the mission of the Maine Children’s Home, using it as a guide to govern all aspects of the services provided by agency programs. The Clinical Director is a member of the organization’s Senior Leadership Team and is expected to contribute and collaborate with other members of the team in the development and implementation of strategic plans. The Clinical Director will maintain a respectful, positive, safe, and healthy environment for staff, stakeholders, visitors, volunteers, and clients.

Essential Duties

  • Provide individual and group, clinical and administrative supervision, support and guidance to MCH Program Directors, clinical staff, social work staff, and interns; ensuring
    • A high quality of care
    • Compliance with all regulations, standards, rules, regulations, and laws
    • Utilization of trauma informed care and evidence based/informed modalities
  • Assure that the regulations and policies related to CEAS Standards and Hague accreditation for the Family Adoption Program are being followed, regularly reviewing documents and reports including home study and post placement reports.
  • Directs and oversees the Hague accreditation process that occurs every three years.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance program.
  • Ensure that all clinical and client documentation / record keeping complies with payment source, licensing regulations and other regulatory body requirements always.
  • Regularly review, update, and maintain the policies and practices of Maine Children’s Home and provide policy training to staff and interns as part of onboarding process.
  • Continuously assess and intervene to ensure the work culture of the programs and the culture of the clinical milieu are aligned with best practices as well as MCH’s Mission, vision and values and strategic goals
  • Assess clinician’s caseloads, billable hours and schedules weekly, providing support and direction to clinicians to meet their billable expectations.
  • Own and manage the client waitlists, ensuring equitable and inclusive practices when assigning clients
  • At least every other week, assess referrals and clinical needs; assign cases to clinicians based on clinician’s availability, date referral was received, and client need to clinician’s skill.
  • Provide consultation as requested in developing and maintaining MCH as a trauma-informed workplace
  • Provide consultation to Marketing and Communications Director on topics of a clinical / mental health nature
  • Participate in strategic planning and implementation
  • Stay informed of changes in the regulatory environment
  • Serves as the chief liaison for licensing visits and audits
  • Collaborate with other community providers to meet the needs of the community, program, and clients within the strategic plan Participate in annual budget planning for programs and clinical supports
  • Provide reports/updates as needed to the Executive Director or the MCH Board of Directors regarding achievement goals and objectives related to clinical strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

A Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related degree from an accredited program with a minimum of ten (10) years of clinical experience in a licensed mental health setting. Must be licensed as an LCSW in the State of Maine with a current license. Must be experienced and aware of best practices in a trauma-informed workplace providing mental health services. Must have excellent communication and writing skills, be detail oriented and highly organized. Must enjoy and be comfortable working in a collaborative team environment. Must have proven leadership, management, communication, and organizational skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
